Are you struggling with weight loss? One of the first thing people who want to lose weight try is starvation. The thing is that when we starve, we deprive our body of nutrition. Rather than helping us lose weight, starvation causes weight gain. Below you will find some tips and hints which will help you lose weight.

In order to lose weight you have to:

  • Make sure you provide your body with nutrition. But, it has to be from healthy food. Reduce the consumption of junk food, sweets and the like
  • Do some deep breathing exercises
  • Exercise
  • Be consistent and persistent

Now, let's take a closer look at each of the above aspects.

Nutrition: You can't lose weight if nutrition is not sufficient. Remember however that junk food for example, give you nothing but add weight. They do provide your body with some energy, but the effects are short-lived and they do more harm than good. You want to eat non-fattening foods that will provide your body with nutrient level it requires. If you do not give your body enough nutrition it will store whatever food it gets as a survival tactic. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, avoid red meat (choose chicken and fish instead). Also, eat some calcium rich foods such as milk and cheese.

Exercise: Choose a workout that suits you best and make sure you exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Try to do something you enjoy, or mix two or three different things. You can for example do swimming one day and jogging another day. The best exercises for weight loss include swimming, walking or jogging and cycling.

Deep Breathing: practice deep breathing for about 15 minutes a day to encourage weight loss. Deep breathing will help your body burn energy.

Be Consistent and Persistent: Make sure that you stick to your plan. Also remember that you won't see the effect of your weight loss routine immediately. Stick to your plan and do not cheat. I know it might be difficult at times but it is the only way to lose weight. If you start cheating on your meals for example, you will most probably lose gain weight. So, follow your plan and be patient.

The last tip I would like to give you is about eating habits. It is better to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals than 3 big meals. Also, try not to eat less than 4 hours before going to bed. Eating late might cause sleeping problems and also cause indigestion, so try to avoid it. By eating late you will not only get weight, but will also wake up tired.
